Abstract
Many studies have investigated the use of Quizizz as an assessment tool in EFL classrooms. However, few have employed case studies as their research design focusing on student teachers’ perspectives. Therefore, this qualitative study aims to highlight student teachers’ perceptions regarding the use of Quizizz as an assessment tool in EFL classrooms. Focusing on three student teachers from a University in Tasikmalaya, this study seeks to gain an in-depth understanding of their perceptions regarding the use of Quizizz during School-Based Internship. Data were collected from semi-structured interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis to reveal student teachers' perceptions of Quizizz as an assessment tool in EFL classrooms. The findings of this study indicate that student teachers consider Quizizz a beneficial tool for their assessment process. They find it easy to use and regard it as effective and efficient for accelerating and simplifying assessments. Quizizz also encourages student engagement in the assessment process. Furthermore, they believe that using Quizizz can save costs and reduce paper usage. However, despite the perceived benefits of Quizizz as an assessment tool, it can pose challenges in the assessment process due to unstable internet connections and uneven access to devices among students.
