Abstract

The Coronavirus pandemic case that occurred in 20219-2023 meant that the teaching and learning process was carried out online. This has an impact on student learning activities that were previously carried out offline to become online and also affects the process of assessing student learning outcomes which cannot be done directly. This research investigates the implementation of summative assessment by teachers in online English classes, specifically how teachers implement summative assessment with students, to investigate how teachers implement summative assessment during the pandemic situation. When the pandemic hit, assessment methods shifted from offline to online. This research uses case study descriptions. This summative assessment was carried out on three respondents from one of the vocational schools in Indonesia, to obtain data using semi-structured interviews to describe the data in more depth which will later be analysed. The research results show that there are several platforms used for summative assessment, namely Google Forms and school websites used for exams. In exams that take place at school, multiple choice is used in summative assessment, where the questions cover material that has been studied previously.
