Abstract

Corrective feedback is integral to student learning, particularly in improving English writing skills. Understanding students' perspectives on the efficacy and impact of teachers' written corrective feedback is crucial for optimizing its effectiveness. This study employs a descriptive case study method, utilizing interviews and thematic analysis to explore students' perceptions of corrective feedback on their English writing assignments. The participants consisted of three students of junior high school in Karawang, West Java, Indonesia. The findings indicate well students’ responses on teacher’s corrective feedback, a preference against unclear and uninteractive feedback, and corrective feedback can solve writing problems. This research highlights the significance of incorporating student perspectives into feedback strategies, providing valuable insights for enhancing pedagogical practices in English writing education.
