Abstract

Speaking skills are recognized as a critical component across various professions, particularly in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learning contexts. The Muhadhoroh program is an activity designed to enhance speaking abilities. This study aims to investigate the significance and drawbacks of the Muhadhoroh program in developing speaking skills. A qualitative approach was employed, involving interviews with three students from an Islamic boarding school in Cirebon. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings revealed that the Muhadhoroh program possesses both strengths and limitations. The author categorized the results into several themes: (1) Developing English Speaking Skills Aspect, (2) Affective Cognitive to English Speaking Skills, (3) Non-efficient Activity in the Muhadhoroh Program, and (4) Lack of Responsibility among the Program Organizer.
