Abstract
Pronunciation is a prominent indicator that becomes an aspect of assessing an individual's speaking ability. Mastering English Pronunciation for vocational high school students is quite important, the students are prepared to be able to work immediately. Prospective workers must have proper English skills, which cannot be separated from students' ability to pronounce English correctly. The objective of the research aims to explore the teacher’s teaching strategies to teach pronunciation in English class in one of the vocational high schools at Tasikmalaya district. This study used qualitative descriptive explanatory case study as a research method. Data is collected from observation and used interview to triangulate the data. Data analyzed using by Miles & Huberman (1994). The data analysis used the theory by Kelly (2000). The findings of this research indicated that the participant employed four of six teaching strategies in her classroom. The strategies such as reading aloud, eliciting the difficult words, drilling both of choral drilling and individual drilling approaches, and listening activity by showing the video were identified throughout the teaching process. Overall, this research highlights the teaching strategies of pronunciation used by the teacher to foster effective learning outcomes.
