Abstract

Learning speaking online during the pandemic became a challenge for students. The recent study examined students' experiences in online speaking classrooms during the pandemic. Three first-year students from the English Education Department were interviewed. Data from semi-structured interviews were analyzed using Miles, Huberman, and Saldana's method. The analysis explored teaching factors, including materials, strategies, and assessment, as well as aspects like information delivery, interaction, and facilitation. Strengths included flexibility in learning time and enhanced speaking skills through technology. However, weaknesses such as lack of interaction led to passive performance and student anxiety.
