Abstract

This study narrates the pre-service teachers’ expectation before and realities during the International Internship Program (IIP). This study used narrative inquiry as research methods. The participants of this study were five pre-service teachers’ who joined the IIP with none teaching experience. Data were collected through narrative frame and interview as additional data. It was analyzed by thematic analysis (Braun and Clarke, 2006). This study's findings showed the pre-service teachers' expectations and realities of social experience involving the Thai environment and society, pre-service teachers’ teaching experience, and the pre-service teachers’ development after this program. The researcher hopes this study will be a consideration for conducting a better International Internship Program in the future. In addition, since the data collection in this study was undertaken after the program has finished, the researcher suggests future studies to collect data before and after the program is conducted to get more comprehensive data.
