Abstract

This qualitative research aims to investigate the impact of using the VRChat on students’ oral communication skills. Focusing on students’ experiences and perceptions in VRChat to facilitate their oral communication skills, the data was collected from the results of semi-structured interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis (Braun & Clarke, 2006). The research results showed that there were 2 themes, namely, (1) Benefits in using VRChat, and (2) The challenges and strategies. Thus, the results of this research provide perception from EFL students in using the VRChat to improve their oral communication skills. To reveal the impact of the VRChat in more detail is explained further in this research. Keywords: Oral communication skills, EFL learners, learner perceptions, case study, self-learning, VRChat.
