Abstract
TB cases in the town of Tasikmalaya from 2016 - 2018 the highest in pain in adolescence (15-24 years). The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of counseling using video and assisted with simulations on the level of students' knowledge regarding prevention of tuberculosis transmission. The subjects were 78 students of SMK Negeri 4 Tasikmalaya as many as 78 people divided into two extension groups counseling with video and video assisted group simulation with a proportional random sampling technique. This type of research is quasi experiment with a non equivalent control group. Data processing techniques using Independent T-Test. Statistical test results showed that there was a significant difference (p < 0,05) of the students knowledge in the counseling with video and video assisted group simulation about the prevention of TB transmission, the value p = 0,000 (p <0,05). The average test difference between pretest and posttest in counseling with video was 5.85, while in the video assisted group simulation it was 8.95. Descriptive analysis of the results can be seen that the difference in the average value of knowledge in the video assisted simulation group is greater than the counseling with video group. Thus it can be concluded that health counseling using video assisted simulation is more effective than just using video in increasing knowledge about prevention of TB transmission. Any schools are expected to provide material on prevention of TB transmission, simulation methods can be used as a reference for learning methods in TB prevention education.
