Abstract

Ikko Triana, 2019. Investigating Young Learners’ Behavioural Engagement in English Learning. Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris. Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan. Universitas Siliwangi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran tingkah laku siswa dalam pembelajaran Bahasa inggris. Classroom research digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan partisipan 6 orang siswa Sekolah Dasar di salah satu kursusan di Tasikmalaya. Data penelitian berupa Transkrip observasi. Data diperoleh melalui observasi di dalam kelas dan dianalisis menggunakan Thematic Analysis (Braun, 2006). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa seluruh siswa menunjukan Behavioural Engagement dari 4 aspek yaitu: 1. Students’ Participation in English Learning, 2. Students’ Effort in English Learning, 3. Students’ Attention in English Learning, 4. Students’ Persistence in English Learning. Kata kunci: Young Learners, Students’ Engagement, Behavioural Engagement, Classroom Research
